Kidder County is the destination for many who want to experience the best in free lance waterfowl hunting. Whatever your preference - big water, sloughs, stubble fields or jump shooting, you will find it down the road from our lodge. Good populations of pheasants and sharptails are also nearby. Pheasants frequent our yard and broods of grouse are raised every year in the hills around the lodge.
Like to fish? Sitting on the edge of the Missouri Coteau, the hilly landscape and sandy soils are perfect for lakes large enough to hold healthy populations of walleye, perch and northern pike. Through an aggressive stocking program by the ND Game and Fish, many of the lakes within a few miles from the lodge have very healthy populations of a variety of species. Just over the hill to the east, Sibley Lake produces many limits of walleye in the summer. From the porch of the lodge you can see Horsehead Lake with an incredible number of a variety of age classes of northern pike. Within a short drive of the lodge you can fish a different lake every day for a few weeks and still not fish them all. The NDG&F website has a great section on fishing opportunities in North Dakota complete with maps and stocking reports.
We want to share our dream with others who want to chase theirs. We built the lodge on a location so that you can take in the view of Horsehead Lake and the surrounding landscape. We enjoy sharing the rich bounty of fish and wildlife that thrive in fields and lakes around us. Come join us any time, as we are open year around.
